Globe Touring presents Romeo & Juliet 
19 - 23 August The world renowned Shakespeare’s Globe are performing the classic tale of star-crossed lovers in the beautiful grounds of the Botanics. 8 - 31 August Visit the Palm House and experience a sound installation commissioned by the Edinburgh International Festival to celebrate the centenary of French composer and ornithologist Olivier Messiaen’s birth. Fri 8 August, 11am Information on the plants growing in the Garden is backed by an extensive library. Until 29 August Come to the Library Foyer and see imagery drawn from Bridget's botanical studies and from the RBGE archives, including those of John Hope, Regius Keeper (1761 - 1786). Developed in conjunction with research for a new window in the City Chambers. See exhibition details on our website. 
Until 31 August See Turner-prize nominee, Jim Lambie’s Secret Affair, part of the 2008 Edinburgh Art Festival. The work, which consists of seven giant keyhole sculptures spread across the Garden in a contrasting variety of landscapes and aspects, provides a wonderful juxtaposition of art with nature. Until 31 August See new and recent sculpture by three of Scotland's leading artists: Christine Borland, Graham Fagen and Simon Starling, exploring their common interest in the uses and symbolism of plants, by cultures past and present. Until 12 October Richard Hamilton is one of the great artists of our time, whose originality continues to influence artists today. Until 28 September This critically-acclaimed exhibition is a soul-searching photographic journey inspired by Bob Dylan’s potent lyrics to the classic “A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall’’. Sun 24 August, 10.30am - 3pm Logan hosts a plant fair featuring Dumfries and Galloway’s finest gardens and nurseries. This is the ideal opportunity to purchase unusual plants that are rarely available to the public. Make a day of it and combine the Plant Fair with a visit to the Garden.
